Today brings us to track 3 on Jestem Krzywym Lasem, here’s our breakdown of “Without You”. I’ve spoken a bit about “Without You” before, even sharing a snap from when and where it was written back in December 2020. I had actually woken up one morning and some of the lyrics started swirling around my head as I worked up the strength to get out … Continue reading Jestem Krzywym Lasem Track by Track: Without You
I’ve been holding off on this blog series (I’m assuming it’ll wind up being a mini series) because I’m still in the middle of the whole getting divorced thing. Officially I’ll be able to submit the next wave of paperwork as of November 1st, and then, assuming my ex gets his in quickly, too, we then have to wait for the courts to get back … Continue reading Memory Lane: Wedding Edition
Continuing our crusade through Jesyem Krzywym Lasem from the previous overview post, here’s our track by track breakdown of the first song on the record, “Quiksand”. Quiksand was the first song I wrote that I realized pretty quickly it didn’t quite fit in with all the other songs I was working on at the time. It was somehow musically even more toned down than any … Continue reading Jestem Krzywym Lasem Track By Track: Quiksand
Following up on our blog about Jestem Krzywym Lasem, here’s our track by track breakdown of the first single from the record, track 2’s “Driveway”. “Driveway” was really the catalyst for deciding that I needed to branch away from (ha!) the Crooked Forest name for this EP and put it out under my given name. But knowing full well that this was just another piece … Continue reading Jestem Krzywym Lasem Track By Track: Driveway
A little ahead of our unplanned schedule, today we dropped our cover of “Seventeen” off of Static Prevails. Check out the official video here: I opted to track Seventeen this week because, well, I’d already been practicing the acoustic version, so instead of going through the arduous task of beginning from absolute scratch, we set our thimble on the board and we were off to … Continue reading Jaimee Eat World Release: Seventeen
This is a multi-series blog post. Table of Contents at the bottom of the page. Yesterday I announced the release date of my upcoming EP, “Jestem Krzywym Lasem” which is the debut solo EP I’m presenting as myself, Jaimee Jakobczak. Now, if you’ve frequented these trails before you might be saying, “but Jaimee, you’ve released like, 4 other EP’s already as a solo artist” and … Continue reading What’s “Jestem Krzywym Lasem” All About Anyways?
Late last week I finished mixing my new EP, “Jestem Krzywym Lasem” and almost just as quickly, I got it up and ready to go on all those digital streaming platforms you all use to listen to rad tunes (thanks Distrokid for making this processes insanely easy). It’s an acoustic based EP, just guitar and vocals, and we landed on 4 original songs and 1 … Continue reading EP Release: “Jestem Krzywym Lasem” Coming October 29th 2021
The first cover song in the Jaimee Eat World exclusive discography is officially here, and, bonus, it came with a music video! We spoke pretty in depth about this song and its significance to us in an earlier blog post when we did the acoustic cover tracking of it back in July 2021, so for the sake of not bogging you down with the same … Continue reading Jaimee Eat World Release: Hear You Me
Earlier this week I sat down with Volatile Weekly for a chat about music, influences, the new EP and more. Check it out now live on their website.
