Today’s album feature comes to us from New York City based alternative-electronic producer, guitarist & poet jacqui with their 3rd solo release Starling.
Lyrically inspired by poems and private notes between friends, Starling reflects on love, power, hostile architecture, and personal crisis.
Sitting on a unique bed which sees Jacqui fusing pop-electronica and alternative folk, this 6 song collection creates an immersive atmosphere that is buoyant and etheral, but the real treat is jacqui’s fervent guitar work. It manages to feel raw and unfiltered when it emerges while being perfectly tucked into each track; The balance showcasing jacqui’s strong intuition as a producer and their pure talent across a fretboard.
The EP also includes a house remix of “Fly Fishing” by GorpoPap of Philly’s Lust Orchid which is sure to be a treat to drum & bass fans.
Stream or purchase the album on Bandcamp for $8 USD.
The album is also available on cassette via Healthy Dose Records.
Highlight track: Wrecking Crew
