Now that things have returned to some semblance of normalcy around here and you’ve no doubt had time to review the updates to our mission, values and goals, I’m excited to announce our first compilation album and call for submissions.

As part of the Jaimee Eat World project which is recreating Jimmy Eat World’s discography from scratch (currently working on Surviving last we heard), I introduced to you some time ago the idea to put together a unique collection of Jimmy Eat World covers from, well – you. As much fun as it is for me to work on my own covers, I’m always inspired by what I hear other artists doing and I’d love to highlight some of your work.

So, Jimmy Eat World fans, I’m making the call.

Crooked Forest Presents Believe In What You Want – A Jimmy Eat World cover compilation album. In support of our $5000 goal for our Believe In What You Want fundraiser, proceeds from this album will directly support mental health services via CAMH – The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.

Our previous fundraising efforts made just over $100, but we weren’t really pushing it hard enough and never got around to actually putting together a compilation record like we’d hoped. I think this time we can really do it. The fundraiser will continue over the course of the Jimmy Eat World recreation project, so if you can’t donate yet, there’ll be ample opportunity in the future.

Technical Specs: Submissions should be in .wav format at 16/44.1.
Crooked Forest is happy to provide mixing/mastering if you are unable to mix/master your track yourself.

The above will be used in press releases and features to accompany the album, so please do send them along as any submissions that do not include these may not be considered for the final release.

We will cap the album at 12 tracks, so depending on how many submissions we receive it is possible that your track may not make the official cut, but I assure you we will have ample opportunity to showcase your work.

Payment: As this is a charity release, artists who submit for the compilation album agree to forego payment for their work if chosen for the official release, but all artists will be given a printed copy of the album once it is distributed and will be eligible for feature or interview on CrookedForest.ca.
