Not unlike the call of a bird perched above a quiet lake just as the sun begins to fall from its highest peak, the latest by Avaraj begins with a quick-panning multi-timbered synth that suggests an awakening.
Paired with deep house bass, these arrangements repeat and build casually and calmly, raising us like an increasing tide into the first verse. Before long, the drums catch up and their poppy beat gets our heart pumping.
The track build gradually throughout, but by the chorus it’s a full blown pop/house-anthem that would be well suited for a remix in the vein of No Mercy or Sewdish House Mafia.
Avaraj, Blackout Noise – Eternal Sunset
Lyrically it’s a powerful song about vulnerability and finding strength to be honest with yourself and those that you love to help them weather the storms of their life.
Avaraj embraces heavy vocal processing on the track in a way that tastefully adds to the track’s production style which is both whispy and airy while also in stark contrast at times, heavy in a way that’s full of youthful energy.
It succeeds magnificiantly in showcasing the compelling nature of embracing the most sensitive sides of yourself, ironically while repeating the phrase, “I can’t be vulnerable,” Avaraj opens themself up to just that.
The track is a collaboration between Avaraj and Blackout Noise that would be enjoyed by fans of artists like Blackbear, Cher and Phoebe Bridgers alike.
Listen to Eternal Sunset wherever you stream and keep up with them on their social media channels.
