If you’ve ever felt like you’ve reached the limit of your mental and emotional capabilities when struggling with an experience, you might have felt like you understood for the first time what it means to truly become insane.
But how did you get there? What led you down that road and why didn’t you veer left when those signs told you this was a dead end?
From the inbox today we’re pleased to introduce you to Houston, Texas-based post-hardcore punk trio Mind Mine and their recent release “Evolution of Insanity”.
From the exploding landmine that is lyricist Jeffrey Perales own mind, Evolution of Insanity feels like the blaring manifestation of that hypothetical warning sign we planted into your head just a few moments ago. It comes out of the gate like a bull to a matador, aggressive, intense and ready to fight. It instills a sense of fear the same as you once felt jolted into your chest when your mom reached for the wooden spoons to scold you after you defiantly spit back a swear word that you learned from your older brother who conveniently forgot to tell you not to use it in the house.
But Mind Mine aren’t here to scare you, they’re here to help – starting with some seriously ambitious head-banging as you thrash along to this track to rattle all of those pesky fears, doubts and frustrations from your life out of your head and onto the gross decaying floor of this seedy basement music venue you stumbled into. It’s okay to let loose here, in fact, it’s highly encouraged.
