From the vault, circa 2006 or so. Back with my first band, we had what I’d describe as a heavy Taking Back Sunday vibe, in the way the lyrics would flow in and out and over top of each other. This is one of those. I’ll be demoing this one out for 2021.
Let’s make up for lost time
Let’s make a scene
I can’t remember the last time it was just you and me
Under street signs and city lights
The world falls asleep with its arms around me
The world falls asleep with its arms around me
And I can’t find what I left behind
So I fall asleep with your arms around me
(So I fall asleep with your arms around me)
And so if I have to
I’ll wait as long as you need
To get that head of yours back where it used to be
My words break the silence,
Fighting to be first in line
“Is this how you imagined –
is this how you imagined tonight?”
Under street signs and city lights
The world falls asleep with its arms around me
The world falls asleep with its arms around me
And I can’t find what I left behind
So I fall asleep,
Put your arms around me
(So I fall asleep,
Put your arms around me)
And so if I have to
I’ll wait as long as you need
To get that head of yours back where it used to be
And so if I have to
I’ll blame myself for your disease
To take all that weight you carry so desperately
Let’s make up for lost time
Let’s make a scene
