Are we well over a month late on this great new release? You bet we are.
We get a lot of great music sent to our inbox and in our DM’s, so admittedly it’s a little hard to keep up sometimes.
Today we want to introduce you to Matt Crossland, a new indie artist from Hull, England who’s debut single “Dreamland” just arrived this January and his latest, produced in Sheffield by the Warren Studios, “Stick Around For The Love” mid March.
It’s good ol’ rock, but here’s where things get really interesting with Matt. Each of those singles were released alongside b-side tracks that are every bit as intriguing and hone in on Matt’s folk-country sensibility.
“Sometimes”, that accompanied “Dreamworld” almost has a bluegrass jug-band quality to it, but polished up and without the twang. “Pretty in Tears” that accompanied SAFTL on the other hand is a great pop-rock ballad. You just never quite know what to expect yet with these tracks and we love that about them.
It’s music that doesn’t feel like it’s trying too hard and is as easy to listen to as it is to relate with direct and honest songwriting. If these 4 tracks are any indication, Matt Crossland is one to keep an eye on in the coming years.
Keep up with Matt on Twitter and follow him on Spotify to keep up with new releases.
