New Rules Duo pull you out of your chairs and onto the dance floor with “Road To Rendition”

Hot off the tail of their first American tour run that had them embark across the Atlantic to Chicago, Illinois for a 5-week stint, the New Rules Duo are already back in the saddle promoting their latest album “Road To Rendition”.

The duo, made up of vocalist Celia Stavri and guitarist Dominik Dybka are no strangers to performing their share of cover songs; In their home of Paphos, Cyprus, they moonlight as a multi-award winning and highly sought after wedding band.

If their American run hasn’t already proven their international acclaim, no doubt a listen through “Road To Rendition” will catapult them among the renowned artists they chose to cover on this release.

The album features 11 original takes on a variety of acclaimed artists and bands spanning an extensive genre reach and solidifies Celia’s sensational vocals as one not to turn your ears away from.

Performing songs by everyone from iconic talents like Guns N’ Roses and Gnarls Barkley, to Christ Stapleton and Chaka Khan, all to way to the likes of Ed Sheeran and relative newcomer Finneas, “Road To Rendition” takes you on a whimsical nostalgic trip as they mould sultry soul, big band pop and lounge-club jazz to create eclectic new spins on classic hits that’ll have you up on your feet and beckoning the stranger across the bar to join you for a dance that’ll take you late into the night.

If you’re ready to get your groove on, start yourself off with New Rules Duo’s latin-inspired take on Ed Sheeran’s “Bad Habits”.

Of course it’s not just Celia’s vocals that shine on “Road To Rendition” as we found ourselves utterly compelled to take another run through the album just to get another listen to Dominik’s harrowing take on Finneas’ “Break My Heart Again”. His natural rasp accompanied by a beautiful piano arrangement on the track left us feeling like we were on the shores of Cyprus and sitting across from our agápi, utterly enamoured after a romantic candlelit dinner.

Certainly we could go on about the tantalizing way “Road To Rendition” weaves itself in and out of your heartstrings, but it might better serve you to grab the record and choose your favourite artist from the list instead.
