A little about the record:
“The Clearing” is my first full-length full-band record, featuring 10 songs that kicked off the Crooked Forest project. As with most all of my previous releases, this record was entirely self-recorded, written, played, and mixed by me in various stages over the last two years.

The album comes with 3 bonus tracks including the “Wasted Time” full-band demo and two previously unreleased acoustic recordings; an acoustic alternate of “Champagne Birthday” and a cover of Jimmy Eat World’s “Always Be”.

Given the nature of what inspired the record and the stories the songs tell, I wanted to release this on March 13th, 2022, marking 2-years sober from alcohol. I can’t say with certainty that this record would’ve never been made if I hadn’t made that decision on that day and, somehow, through the pandemic, a divorce, and multiple minor life crisis’ like abruptly quitting my job, managing to stick to it, but as someone that starting writing and playing music very young without ever realizing this dream, I have a hard time believing otherwise. I very much credit that effort as the sole reason for being able to be here today and share this with you.
