Crooked Forest

Home-recorded, one-woman-band performed, written, arranged, mixed and not in any way mastered by Jaimee Jakobczak.

Taking influence from rock outfits like Blink-182, Jimmy Eat World and Treble Charger, Crooked Forest is the independent project of multi-instrumentalist and music producer Jaimee Jakobczak from Woodbridge, Ontario. Self produced and home recorded, it’s melodic, it’s aggressive, and unapologetically honest as it tackles issues of society at large with snappy quips and crunchy guitars in a no holds barred-DIY fashion.

Crooked Forest is the project that kicked off a series of releases through 2020, 2021 and culminated with 2022’s full-length album “The Clearing” that arrived on March 13th.

Prior to The Clearing, Crooked Forest also released as an independent one-woman artist:

A Quiet Place To Scream (3-song full-band demo EP you can listen to below)
Roots (10-song acoustic demo EP)
Tape Deck (10-song full-band demo EP)
Stumped/Stoop’d (5-song acoustic EP)
Assorted singles including Wasted Time and Blister which were the first collaborations that stemmed from this project.

Some of these projects then spun into the creation of Jaimee Jakobczak (the solo artist) and the 5-song debut acoustic EP “Jestem Krzywym Lasem” which you can read about on its own page and new releases are regularly occurring via the Crooked Forest bandcamp subscription Deep In The Woods.

If you like what you hear…

I make all of my music as accessible as possible and everything can be found for free in some capacity through my website and social media links, but of course as with anything these types of projects cost money to create and a lot of time and attention goes into each one.

If you’re able to, please consider donating to my paypal fund and help keep the dream alive.
